Write a letter to your local MP

Please use the email layout below to help write to your Local MP urging him to help stop the issue of whaling:

We are contacting you today to ask you to support the following campaign, which has been drawn up by our dedicated team for the Norwich area:

Japan‘s whaling fleet is in Antarctica and is targeting almost 1,000 whales. Despite agreeing not to take 50 humpback whales this season after international condemnation, 935 minkes and 50 endangered fin whales are still being hunted.

We would appreciate it if you could show your support for this campaign. Please write to the Foreign Secretary, David Miliband, and ask him to raise the whaling issue with the whaling nations and those countries voting for a resumption of commercial whaling and also raise the issue with your fellow youth MPs.

Over 30,000 whales have been killed since the ‘ban’ on whaling in the 1980s. Whaling is inherently cruel; it can take over half an hour for a whale to die. There is also no need for whales to be killed and no real ‘science’ is produced by Japan.  Scientists around the world have condemned this practice.

IFAW and other organisations are aiming to get a three quarters majority at the next International Whaling Commission in 2008, which would offer better protection for whales, particularly if a South Atlantic whale sanctuary is established.

We would be grateful if you could let me know the response you receive on this matter.

Thank you for your time.

Yours sincerely

Cheers guys

this will really help those whales!!

Waterfront Whaling

Hey guys

I was down at the waterfront in town and I saw a whale being whaled on the horizon! I think the crazy Japanese may have got a little lost while chasing the whale. I hope they don’t make it home.
These whalers make me mad!!!

We are not Whalers

Hi guys

My names Matt and i’m part of the We are not Whalers team. I just wanted to write a brief post about the project and aims, outlining basically what we’re about.

I wanted to mention how we want to raise awareness about the atroicity of whaling that is taking place throughout the world. We are all thouroghly against whaling and believe it is a horrible and traumatic experience that is not justified.

We aim to raise awarness about the serious issue that is whaling. (You here plenty on the news about, Global Warming, Terrorism, The Bejing Olymics, but not much about Whaling). We aim to gain support against whaling and publicize the issue.

Cheers guys

Save the Whales!!

Save Mr Splashy

http://www.greenpeace.org.uk/blog/about/save-mr-splashy-pants-20071210

This is an article I found while browsing the Greenpeace website. It’s about a tagged whale named ’Mr Splashy Pants’ after a Greenpeace competition. It’s very funny, sign the partition at the end as well.
